Roctoberfest that took place on October 4, 2014 was the second event that I had the pleasure of being a vendor at on Little Rock AFB. It didn’t start off too well as the weather was deinitely not in anyone’s favor. It was cold, windy, and all around icky outside. The vendors were lucky if all the stuff on their tables, or their signs didn’t fly away. Having said all that, the day went down without a hitch. After the wind decided to die down, the sun was out, the food was good, and the entertainment they had was wonderful. To kill some time and give away some free prizes they had to resort to some impromptu ideas, one of which was a pushup contest. I thought I had a chance until Leslie from Sherwood Crossfit got up there and then it was all over:) Let’s face it. There was no way I was going to win but I was still really proud of myself for getting up there none the less.
In addition to the MC who was funny as all get out, and the music that made you want to shake what your momma gave you, the one other thing that made me smile was this one marine who apparently got his t-shirt on the day they were out of stock in every size but kids sizes. Super funny! Made me giggle every time I saw him.
I met a lot of nice people on Saturday, saw a bunch of adorable dogs, and had a wonderful time. The events on the Air Force Base are always wonderful and, if you have the chance, you should try to go and check them out.
